With the carbon coach roof – can you explain the colour and if black – wouldn’t you expect it to be hot?

Published on 04/14/2026

The roof itself is covered in a tinted gelcoat, regardless if it is the standard version or the upgraded carbon option. You won’t see a visible difference with the carbon roof. The UV-fragile carbon will not be exposed to sunlight – the tinted gelcoat takes that exposure.

It’s worth noting that, on the computer screen, the tinted gelcoat roof looks significantly darker than it would appear in reality. It will indeed be hotter than a white gelcoat roof would be, however we ran a number of colour samples in our development stages to reach a level of tint that was giving the desired aesthetic effect, whilst also being cool enough to walk on even in high levels of direct sunlight.
