Why is there no carbon boom, canoe boom option?

Published on 04/14/2026

The park avenue boom is something we equipped on the Seawind 1600 – which has an even larger mainsail, and much greater weight of mainsail even in the high-performance sailcloth. But the “haystack” – otherwise called “Boom Bensons” will be standard on the Seawind 1370. These will take the weight of the sail and aid in getting the sail flaked correctly. They allow you to climb onto the boom to some extent to tidy up reefs, etc. While not as elegant as a park avenue or canoe boom, they are a lower maintenance solution.
