The Webasto diesel heater option used in the Seawind 1160, 1190 and 1260 is explained in this short video.
The video is taken onboard a Seawind 1160 Lite, which has outboard engines and therefore no inboard diesel motors to make hot water.
On boats that have inboard disel motors for propulsion, hot water can be produced by running the diesel engines which have a heat exchanger unit also, which heats water in a water tank. However, the Webasto unit is more efficient and also can also be used for room heating in colder climates.
