STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS AND EQUIPMENT – OWNERS 3 Cabin Version

1. GENERAL:

The 1160XL is the latest version of the famed Seawind 1160 of which over 200 have been built and sailing all over the world. The SW1160 has hundreds of ocean crossings and a number of world circumnavigations to its credit. The new model SW1160XL retains all the sailing features and offshore capabilities of the 1160 but has been redesigned with a modern exterior, more internal volume and greater cruising comfort.

The new XL version will retain the simplicity and low maintenance features of the SW1160 and offer a true blue-water, ocean capable catamaran at an exceptional entry level price. Perfect for weekend cruising and perfect to meet your serious offshore cruising dream!

The overall finish of the Seawind 1160 XL will be consistent with a luxury world- standard yacht of this size and type. Only very high quality equipment is used             throughout.
The overall aim is for a level of construction, workmanship, equipment, fitout and style          that surpasses any other comparable catamaran available in the market at this price     range.

2. CONSTRUCTION:

• Construction is to ISO Standard Category A and all lamination specifications meet Australian survey and International Standards. Each vessel will have European CE Certification.
• Finish: Full female moulded hulls & decks, exterior gelcoat finish with moulded-in non-slip surface on deck areas.
• Hull Laminate: Infused Vinylester (Modified epoxy) resin laminate of the entire hull.

• Deck Laminate: Infused DCPD polyester (Modified vinylester) resin laminate.
• Hull & Deck Core Material: PVC closed cell foam core

3. MAST/BOOM/SAILS:

• Clear anodised aluminium mast and boom. Single Spreader, 7/8 rig
• Standing Rigging:
  • Forestay 3/8 (10mm) 1 x 19 Dieform wire.
  • Sidestays 3/8 (10mm) 1 x 19 Dieform wire
  • Diamonds 5/16 (8mm) 1 x 19 Stainless Steel wire
  • All fitted with turnbuckles and T-ball end fittings.
• Halyards:
  • Main halyard:  10 mm Spectra rope : Heavy duty shackle
  • Jib halyard:  8 mm Spectra rope. Heavy duty shackle

• Topping lift:  8 mm rope, Heavy duty shackle
• Spinnaker halyard: 12mm rope with snap-shackle spliced to end.

• Boom outhaul: 10mm Spectra
• Single line reefing, run to helm. Three reefing points with 2 reef lines fitted.
• All halyards, reefing lines to be led back to cockpit through turning blocks, rope clutches

11. SLEEPING CABINS

12. AFT PORT BATHROOM:

• Pipes, skin fittings and sea-cocks are easily accessible for maintenance and review.

13. FWD STARBOARD STORAGE AREA:

• Large fibreglass lined area forward of Starboard Queen bed.

14. LIGHTING/ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:

• High quality DC electrical switch panel with circuit breakers, LED indicator lights and voltage display
• Marine grade tinned electrical wiring with extensive use of heat sealed connectors
• Batteries x 2 comprising: 1 x 12v 200Ah Deep Cycle House Gel Batteries. 1 x AGM Start battery

15. PUMPING / FRESH WATER TANKS:

• Electric bilge pumps x 2 (one in each hull)

16. ENGINES:

• Twin Yamaha 25hp High Thrust outboard engines with Dual Thrust Propellor & back exhaust deflector, mounted under each helm seat at each steering station.

• 25” XL outboard legs to reduce propellor cavitation
• Remote electric key start with electric tilt
• Dual engine controls at port helm station
• 270 litre ( 71 US Galls ) gasoline fuel tank mounted in external locker forward of mast & external to the vessel’s interior.

17. NAVIGATION:

• Single portable handheld compass at port helm station.

18. ANCHORING / MOORING:

• Primary anchor is 45 lb CQR anchor type with 15 mtrs x 8mm short link galvanised chain and 40 mtrs x 16mm triple braid anchor warp
• Primary anchor is stored in a specially designed anchor roller under the forward beam
• 3 x PVC Inflatable Fenders
• 4 x Mooring lines (each 15 metres x 14mm)

19. SAFETY

• Emergency fixed glass escape hatches under companionway stairs to meet EU Certification.

20. ANTIFOULING / STRIPING:

• Epoxy barrier coat applied to hulls plus 3 coats ablative antifoul (1 blue & 2 black).
• Seawind 1160 XL decals on each hull and stern
