What type of plumbing fittings does Seawind use at the factory?

Published on 04/14/2026

Current model Seawinds, and all boats built from 2014 onwards, use the 15mm Whale plumbing system. This is a quick connect plumbing system that requires no tools to disconnect or reconnect the plumbing fittings. We use blue pipework for fresh cold water, red for fresh hot water and green for saltwater, typically used for the deck wash system.

Note this system is similar to the PEX system however not compatible.

How to use the system?

The hose is simply inserted to the quick connect fitting to become engaged.

To disengage the fitting, the hose must be pushed into the fitting, then the quick connect ring also be pressed into the fitting allowing the hose to then be pulled out of the quick connect fitting.

A more detailed explanation of the system is below.

It's important to note that hoses must be cut square square for the quick connect system to work correctly.

Seawind boats built in Australia pre-2013/2014 used a simlar system called the John Guest speed fit system.
