They are accurate for unladen Seawind 1370 “base boat”. It’s important to note that polar diagrams are a method of comparing performance at different points of sail, and comparing different models of boats. They can help you choose the right sails, and even assist you in passage planning by optimising your VMG. But because different boats have very different loading capacities, the reference point for these publications is based on an unladen empty boat – no polar diagrams are accurate to a laden cruising boat. However, the boat weight estimates have been checked against the designer's weight estimates and we have been getting the same numbers as the 1370’s enter production.
