Can I charge My 12v AGM start batteries from my 24v Lithium House Bank from my 1370?

Published on 04/14/2026

Your primary  charge inputs to the boat are setup to go to the 24v house bank being solar, shorepower inverter charger, stand alone battery chargers and the high output alternators.

The only charge therefore going into the 12v AGM start batteries is coming off the standard Yanmar alternators.

So what happens if you rarely use your engines, or your plan to leave the boat for some time and want to make sure that the AGM start batteries do not go flat?

In this technical video, we explain the DC to DC chargine setup on the 1370:

Note:

When leaving the boat for extended periord of time, such as winterisation, it is recommended to leave the house batteries in the off position, with the DC to DC charger switched on to charge the start battery with the emergency parrelle open to take power to both port & stbd batteries.
