For more than forty years, Seawind Catamarans has built boats for people who truly sail, owners who demand speed, safety, comfort, and confidence in all conditions. From this philosophy came the award-winning Seawind 1260, a model celebrated globally for its balance of performance and liveability.
Yet the world of sailing continues to evolve. More owners now choose full-time cruising. More couples are taking offshore adventures. And more sailors expect their boat to deliver both comfort and capability without unnecessary complexity.
The Seawind 1270 is our answer to that evolution, a next-generation 42ft catamaran shaped by decades of offshore experience and refined through real owner feedback across the entire Seawind fleet.
This is not simply a new model. It is a thoughtful advancement of everything that made our previous generation successful, now elevated to meet the expectations of today’s bluewater cruisers.
The Unmissable Key Improvements on the All-New Seawind 1270
While the Seawind 1260 set a strong foundation, the 1270 introduces 30–35 major enhancements that transform the boat in ways immediately visible and deeply felt once aboard.
- A more modern and powerful exterior: The new styling extends across the bows, deck lines, and saloon windows. The profile is sharper, more athletic, and aligned with our latest Seawind design language.
- Hull refinements that redefine seakeeping: A completely redesigned underwater hull shape improves performance through the entire wind range, while new reverse bows and raised bows (+250 mm) increase waterline length, buoyancy, and comfort in heavy seas.
- Larger, brighter, more open living spaces: The saloon is extended by 200 mm, headroom is increased throughout, and each hull is widened by 60 mm, creating significantly more storage, living area, and sleeping comfort.
- Safety upgrades for real offshore confidence: Deck ergonomics are transformed with flattened decks, 800 mm high 4-line lifelines, extended transom steps, and a side access gate for effortless boarding.
- Flexible layouts for every cruising style: Choose 3 cabins or 4 cabins, galley up or galley down, with a dedicated butler’s pantry for extended liveaboard life.

Shaped for Stability, Speed, and Safety
A great bluewater catamaran begins with the hull. On the Seawind 1270, the hull and deck architecture introduces several breakthroughs:
- New underwater shape: Designed to reduce hobby-horsing and maximise efficiency, from light zephyrs to strong breezes.
- Reverse bows & raised bows
- More waterline = more speed
- More buoyancy = more stability
- More clearance = more comfort offshore
- Flattened deck surfaces: Movement forward is easier, safer, and more intuitive, especially when sailing at night or in big seas.
- Wider hulls: Sixty additional millimetres may sound modest, but across full hull length, the difference in cabin volume, storage, and walkway width is dramatic.

Everything works together to deliver a smoother ride and a noticeably more powerful stance on the water.
Built for Offshore: Lightweight, Strong, and True to Seawind DNA
Seawind has always refused to compromise on structural integrity. The 1270 continues this legacy with:
- Vinyl ester resin (modified epoxy for superior strength and osmosis resistance)
- E-glass multiaxial and unidirectional laminates
- Carbon reinforcement in key high-load areas
- 100% vacuum infusion for a tight, high-performance laminate
This approach delivers a hull that is both lightweight and extremely strong, essential for Category A Unlimited Offshore Certification.
The goal is simple: a boat that can cross oceans confidently, without the complexity of daggerboards or exotic, full-carbon builds.
Fast Enough, Strong Enough, Simple Enough
The Seawind 1270 sits in a sweet spot that many modern sailors appreciate:
real performance without complicated systems.

- Longeron system: Replaces the traditional bowsprit with a clean, strong, fiberglass structure for the screecher and spinnaker.
- All sail controls led back to the cockpit: Allowing complete sail management: reefing, trimming, hoisting without stepping onto the deck.
- Twin-helms on the same level: No climbing up or down, no risky transitions, and seamless 360° visibility.
- Performance through smart engineering: Not through excessive carbon, oversized rigs, or delicate racing hardware, but through intelligent naval architecture that delivers speed, stability, and predictable offshore behaviour.
This is performance you can trust and performance you can use every day.
A Larger, Brighter, More Adaptable Interior
Inside, the Seawind 1270 feels like a class above its size range.

- A deeper, longer, taller saloon that brings in more natural light, accommodates more people comfortably, and creates generous space to live, cook, plan, rest, and gather.
- Three layout styles
- 3 cabin – Galley down
- 3 cabin – Galley up
- 4 cabin – Galley up
The flexibility reflects the reality of how sailors use their catamarans today: weekend sailing, coastal cruising, or multi-year ocean adventures.
- Signature indoor–outdoor flow: The iconic tri-fold door connects the cockpit and saloon into one unified living space, a hallmark of Seawind design philosophy.
Engineered for Real Offshore Conditions
The 1270 incorporates safety at every touchpoint:
- 800 mm high lifelines (4-line), a major upgrade for tall crew
- Flattened, clutter-free decks
- Side access gate for easy docking
- Extended transom steps for safer water access
- Protected dual helms with no stairs, no exposed positions
- All lines in cockpit, sail without leaving shelter

This is offshore safety not as an afterthought, but as a central principle.
