7th Annual West Coast Multihulls & Seawind Catalina Rally
This year the Seawind Rally is going to be a SUPER event. If you think last year’s rally was fun, this year is going to be FANTASTIC! Discover your inner POWERS, and unlock your inner STRENGTH. Batman, Spiderman and all of the Avengers have nothing on the Multi-Hullksters. So call your favorite Super Hero and borrow their cape or let that super alter-ego out by showing up in your own creation. That’s right the Catamaran Crew will be invading Catalina during the 7th Annual West Coast Multihulls and Seawind Rally. This year we have decided to have a pre-rally get together in Dana Point on Wednesday night. This will be a casual gathering for anyone who wants to meet up with the north bound boats. There will also be a post-rally stop in Avalon on Sunday night. This year is looking to be a SUPER event. Do not miss this one!
The cost for the Rally is $60 per person if paid by August 1st.
After the 1st the price goes up to $75 so don’t delay!

Schedule | Wednesday, August 15 - Monday, August 20 - 2012
Wednesday—Afternoon—”Pre-Rally get-to-gather in Dana Point”
Meet up with the north bound rally boats as they overnight in Dana Point in preparation for an early Thursday departure to the Isthmus.
Thursday—5pm—”Impromptu cocktails at the Harbor Reef”
Meet all of your Seawind and multihull friends and catch up on the past years adventures. Meet up on the back deck at the restaurant. Kurt will get the appetizers started...
Friday - 9-11am—Morning Cocktails and BVI presentation at the Yacht Club
Continental Breakfast with Bloody Marys and Mimosas will be served at the Isthmus Yacht Club. There will also be an exciting presentation on chartering in the BVI by Bobbi Rossini.
Friday—Afternoon—Games on the Beach
Those who need to work off their lunch will enjoy an energetic game of volleyball on the beach. Those of us with a little more sedate vision of cruising might engage in a game of horse shoes or ladder ball. There is also the option of a real low impact activity of taking a Hummer Tour of the Isthmus.
Friday—6-? - Dinner on the Beach
The Harbor Reef restaurant will again be catering dinner. This is where the theme of “The Multi-Hullksters” really takes off. BAM!!! Come as your favorite Super Hero or create your own. POW!!! There will be prizes for the best costume and for the best “Super Cocktail”.
Saturday—11am—Pre-race Photo Op
All boats will meet outside the moorings in the Isthmus and form up in a tight but safe formation in preparation for the annual group photo. This is where we create the spectacular photos of the entire fleet sailing under beautiful skies and smiles on our faces.
Saturday—12 noon—Catalina Multihull Race
This year, we will once again be racing around the west end to Cat Harbor, where we will raft up in the back of the anchorage. We will be keeping the activities to a minimum as this highly competitive race usually results in an afternoon nap. Yes...Super Heroes do nap, just ask my grandkids! The evening activities will be impromptu appetizers and drinks on the boats.
Sunday—am—Sail around the back side of Catalina to Avalon
Those that need to return to the real world can cast off for parts afar and those lucky ones who have shed the chains of civilization can stay until the money runs out. But for those that leave, a stop in Avalon for Sunday night where there are plenty of dinner options.
Note: This is a tentative schedule and subject to a lack of enthusiasm and immediate modification.
