SW1250 Wisky Business - Launches in Sydney
A smiling Greg & Marilyn White took delivery of their brand new Seawind 1250 “Wisky Business” this week at Seawind’s Sydney Harbour waterfront office with Customer Service Manager Murray Griffiths & Production Supervisor Chad Booth onboard to show the ropes.
The name ‘Wisky Business’ came about after much deliberation for about a year, and came down to a few key points: firstly a fondness for old Tom Cruise movies, Elma Fudd, Greg’s appreciation for quality scotch and the deciding factor, Marilyn’s willingness to say it over the radio when calling other boats as compared to many of Greg’s other suggestions for a name.
The boat will be kept at The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club in Pittwater, where as long standing tenants, the marina will be adjusted to accommodate them. While on Pittwater, “Wisky Business” will run skippered day charters as well as being involved in some catamaran sail training courses both in Pittwater and on Sydney Harbour in collaboration with Seawind (more information to come). The vessel will also be down on Sydney Harbour over the Christmas break, making it a great boat to charter for the Sydney to Hobart start and the New Years Fireworks!
Greg and Marilyn’s choice to go with a Seawind 1250 was for a variety of reasons, as Marilyn explains, “The Australian made factor was important to us, being able to talk with the factory and make personal changes to things like upholstery and extras for the boat”.
Greg adds, “The overall quality was also key, not only in the build of the boat but also in the products and equipment on board…and of course what initially caught my attention - the “wow” factor!”
Longer term Greg & Marilyn plan to go extended cruising once they have retired. Starting off easy with the Whitsundays and then heading further north to the Louisiade Archipelago and out into the South Pacific .
Seawind Catamarans wish Greg & Marilyn all the best with their new SW1250 and look forward to sending a few charters their way before they head off on their journey.
