Seawind 1050 Resort
The Seawind 1050 Resort has been specially developed to suit the needs of commercial operators who are looking for a safe, cost effective and passenger friendly vessel, ideally suited to day charter excursions. It is designed and built to meet Australian D survey and can carry up to 30 passengers and two crew, depending on area of proposed operation. She is ideal for diving operators, whale and dolphin watching or simply taking tourists to explore coral reefs and sheltered sandy bays. The Seawind 1050 Resort can now gain 2C survey (Open Waters) and gain up to 40 + 2 in 1D (Partially Smooth).
The major design feature of the Seawind Resort 1050 is its huge main deck offering safe, stable and comfortable day accommodation for the passengers and crew. Protection from the elements is achieved by the large fibreglass hardtop, with roll up clear windows all round. This gives great visibility and a feeling of spaciousness and relaxed comfort for all on board.
You will find that sailing the Resort 1050 is easy and is designed to be operated by one person, meaning very low operating costs are achieved. All engine and sail controls are easily accessible from the central helm position. With the unique roller furling, fully battened mainsail and the optional furling jib, raising and lowering the sails is a one person operation. Once under way, it gets even easier. The jib sheets are led back to the helm under the deck leaving this area completely free of ropes. With the boom located well above the passengers heads, this offers a very safe environment for guests.
Our aim with the Seawind 1050R was to develop a day charter yacht as a very attractive commercial proposition with a realistic purchase price and a low operating cost. In addition to being able to be operated by one person only, low operating costs is further achieved by the use of design and finishes allowing for easy maintenance and cleaning. The standard twin Yamaha 9.9 four stroke outboard engines offer a very economical power source and are particularly effective for close in manoeuvring around docks and berths. Already, the Seawind 1050 Resort is proving very successful in a number of commercial locations in Australia, including the Great Barrier Reef, Jervis Bay and Port Hacking.
